We went to church today at 8 pm. There is a polish priest that serves the kato meri. Pater Antoni is in Kardiani now. The big gripe of theday had to do with the key to the church center. The village people want it in some hiding spot. The priest doesn't want to give it over.
We went to the beach today. We went all the way over to the corner of the Kalloniotiki beach. You just have to ignore all the trash that the thalassa throws on to the beach. If you actually look at it, you're too disgusted to go swimming in the ocean even if that one corner looks sparkly clean. And that's not even taking into account the trash and rot that was there prior to a couple of weeks ago when they took a bulldozer to it. Not that the Kompiani side is better. It's just that the guy who has the umbrellas has some Albanian guy netting up the debris and throwing it in the trash. When it's nice, it's nice. When it's not, it's bad. It makes you want to become a true environmentalist. We had a good time swimming there though. The water is shallow and we played tag in the water. I had left the baby with Dad. Her eyes are still red. I am going to take her back to the pediatrician tomorrow. The tobrex eyedrops don't seem to be working. I am starting to get really concerned. I don't know if it's an allergy, an infection or what. If it doesn't go away within another week, I might go to Athens for a second opinion.
